Information You Submit
Search terms such as a name, phone number, or address are sent to the outside provider that returns results; our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you send a message, we receive the details in it and use them to respond.
Routine Technical Logs
The host records standard server data, including IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time stamps. We review combined counts to maintain the service and understand which sections are used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where enabled.
How Information Is Used
We use the limited data described above to run the site, repair errors, measure traffic, and improve the reference. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual user profiles.
External Portals and Searches
Links lead to state and county offices, libraries, archives, and search providers. Information entered after following a link is handled under that service’s privacy terms. Sponsored results are supplied by an outside company and follow its own practices.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support vendors process server logs as part of keeping the site available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the routine technical data noted above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
Connections to the site are encrypted. Server logs are kept only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice. Because there are no user accounts, we do not hold account passwords or profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you think a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.
Your Indiana Data Rights
Indiana Code 24-15, the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, provides rights for people covered by the law when they interact with qualifying private businesses. Its enforcement began January 1, 2026, and statutory thresholds and exemptions apply; it does not cover the state and local public agencies that maintain official records. We keep little visitor information, so a request to access, correct, or delete data about you usually concerns our contact mailbox or server logs. Send it through the Contact page. A deed, court file, or voter entry held by an Indiana custodian must be addressed to that office.
Changes to This Notice
We will post revisions here. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised notice.
