1. Service Description
Indiana Residents Directory is a private reference that points to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections about present and former Indiana residents. It does not host government records and is not connected with an office, court, or records custodian.
2. Lawful and Acceptable Use
Use the service only in a lawful way. You must not use it or information reached through it to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. No Consumer Reports
Indiana Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq.). Neither its material nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report, and neither may be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. External Services
Government portals and outside providers, including sponsored search tools, set their own terms. We do not control or accept responsibility for their pages, uptime, charges, or information practices.
5. No Warranty
The service is offered "as is" and "as available," without a warranty of any kind. We make no promise that its content is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will function or return the right result.
6. Liability Limits
As far as applicable law permits, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages tied to use of this service or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record reached through it.
7. Your Responsibility for Claims
You agree to protect and hold the operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorney fees, that arise from your misuse of the service or breach of these conditions.
8. Copyright and Reuse
Copyright protects the site’s original writing, visual design, logo, and layout. You may link to a page or quote a short passage with credit, but you may not republish whole pages or copy material systematically.
9. Future Revisions
New terms take effect when posted here. Continuing to use the service after a revision means you accept it.
10. Restricting Access
We may limit or block access, without advance notice, when someone violates these terms or misuses the service.
11. Indiana Law
Indiana law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Indiana Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3, governs requests for eligible records held by public agencies; it does not make every record public or require an office to create a new one.
12. Remaining Terms
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the other provisions continue to apply.
